I took the armour passed to me by Don Quixote.
Although it was worn and tattered, the moment I touched it,
I felt an unparalleled excitement.
To me, it is the beginning of an unknown / yet faith-filled journey.
I put on the armour,
Mounted the warhorse led by Don Quixote,
Blew the horn, and began chasing the golden light shimmering in the distance.
The horse trotted through/ crossroads in the countryside,
Sometimes leisurely strolling, sometimes galloping wildly.
It carried me across fragrant fields of wildflowers,
Through sombre forests, around imposing mountains…
The golden light in the distance turned ever more vivid,
At times revealing blooming flowers,
At times lush woods or towering mountains.
Listen! From the woods came the howls of gathering wolves,
Foxes and wild boars joined the commotion,
And leaves rustled in the storm, blending with thunder and lightning.
The golden light vanished!
I cried out.
Suddenly, an eagle soared above me,
Dropping a letter before flying off in pride.
I unrolled the scroll; it was from Don Quixote:
“Be a true knight,” it read boldly.
So, I straightened my armour,
Clutched the spear tightly in my hand,
Rode my horse over frozen rivers, muddy marshes,
And desolate deserts where no soul roamed.
Exhausted, my horse knelt on the ground,
And I finally set down the worn armour I had carried all the way.
We are lying on the moss-covered flagstones.
Before my eyes, the golden light appeared again.
I rubbed my eyes, and a tear soaked into the ground.
At this very moment, all things revived , flowers blossomed,
Insects chirped, birds sang, and melodies harmonized;
Suddenly, some ear-piercing sounds went through my mind
“She looks like a clown.”
“What does she mean by doing all this?”
I had nothing to say when I hear about these.
Because
Once again, I took the armour passed to me by Don Quixote,
And saw the golden light reappear before me.
